About resellCI

resellCI started with a moment that will feel familiar to a lot of islanders.

I was getting rid of something that still worked, still had value—I just didn't need it anymore. Replacing it felt easier than finding someone else on the island who could use it. That's when it clicked how often that happens here. Good items don't leave Jersey because they're broken—they leave because passing them on takes effort.

On a small island, that adds up quickly. Jersey produces more waste per person than the UK mainland, and a huge amount of what's incinerated each year didn't need to be thrown away at all. Once something is burned, its value is gone—and on an island with limited space, that matters.

Keeping value circulating right here in Jersey—by making buying and selling secondhand feel easy for everyone.

resellCI was built to make buying and selling secondhand work better for Jersey. Islanders can buy and sell items they no longer need, without shipping, long distances, or complicated hassle. No vans crossing borders. No warehouses. Items stay on the island and move directly from one home to another.

Privacy matters, especially on a small island. resellCI was designed so people can list items confidently while staying in control of what they share. You only provide the information needed to complete a sale—nothing more.

It's not about giving things away or telling people to stop buying. It's about better using what we already have—a jacket worn a few times, furniture that no longer fits a space, everyday items in good nick that just aren't needed anymore. When selling locally is easy, people choose it.

On a small island, small behavior changes make a real difference. Every item resold keeps value in Jersey and waste out of incineration.

That's why resellCI exists.
